Can snakes see ultraviolet?
Building a snake cage with one ultraviolet bulb, one florescent and one infrared. Will she be able to see the ultraviolet at night if it's left on?

They have 4 types of cones, humans have 3, this 4th set allows them to see in the UV spectrum. That is why you should not use UV lighting at night. The poster lights are not really safe for reptile use. A blue or red( including infrared) reptiles specialty night light is a better choose.You can find these products from Exo-Terra, Zoo Med, R-Zilla, T-Rex,and Fluker's.
I use UV lighting for day use with my snakes. 2.0 UVb and GEs Plant & Aquarium fluorescent bulbs.

by "ultraviolet" do u mean a true UVA/UVB producing light or do u mean a "blacklight" (the ones used in clubs that make white things glow purple)
while it will be able to tell there is light, it wont see that much (even at night its never completely dark) so it will be fine

i dont believe they can see it but she;ll be able to feel tthe heat..... that is an interest enclosure play-- i like your thinking
