Why do Christians keep saying that rape, theft, and murder are sins?

Since all of these things happen in nature, they must be ok for humans, right?

Update:

BTW, I'm a Christian and I know that these are sins.

Seems you're trying to point out that just because you sometimes find same-sex relations among animals, that this is insufficient justification for same-sex relations in humans. Relatively logical, but there are MUCH more scientific and Biblical reasons why same-sex relations are the abomination that God said it was.

    God bless.

You obviously don't realize that not all living creatures play by the same rules. Some species are social, some not, some predatory, some not.

Humans have developed abstract and conceptual thinking abilities - we change the rules over time. Religions are simply superstitious versions of certain social and cultural laws and customs that both predated and informed those cultures at the time the religion developed. Hence slavery was not outlawed until recently, because those cultures did not see it as 'sinful' so it wasn't written into the Bible etc...

Keep using common law (orig. pagan) and we'll get along fine. Keep your theocratic laws away from me though...

I like your sarcasm and I agree with you. Just because something is natural doesn't make it right. In fact, I believe the contrary is true. Natural is bad because I believe humans are inherently evil.

Not just Christians. I doubt you will find many atheists, or any other group of theists that are for ape, theft, and murder. That's why there are civil laws as well.

Allow me to enlighten you. Animals are exempt from such acts as they cannot reason. Allow me to suggest a book, yes? The Lowest Animal by Mark Twain. Give it a read and you may see this a bit differently.

i agree with ICE. It is human nature, that is precisely why it is sin. since Adam failed, human nature is sin.

Second question in a row with bad logic. You never studied logic, did you?

Rape, theft and murder hurt other people, and that is why they are wrong. They are wrong whether you are Christian or not.

Humans are an exception because we can distinguish between right and wrong. It may be natural but it doesn't make it right.
