growing grapes in NJ?
I want to grow grapes in my yard. I want some that one day i may be able to make wine from and a second bunch for shade. What type of grapes grow best in the north east and where is a good place to buy grape plants. I check lowes and home depot last year with no luck. Also when is the best time to start planting them? Thanks

Most hardy varieties of wine grapes should do well, with a little winter protection. Check with Jung, Territorial Seeds or Gurneys. They usually have a decent selection to choose from.
Enjoy and good luck!
