What do think about exopolitics and should it wait until 2012?

When I first heard about 2012 doomsday predictions it was very silly and just thought not again. But looking into it, the whole story of ET's, UFO cover ups and our place in this galaxy is starting to surface. What do u think?

The story of UFOs and aliens isn't "just starting to surface," it's been ongoing since the first "saucer scares" in the late 1940s. The 2012/Nibiru nonsense has certainly increased the publicity, but there is still no evidence for any of their claims.

If you look at the history of alleged UFO sightings and alien encounters, the descriptions of the ships and crew have changed over the decades, closely following pop-culture trends (film and television portrayals, etc.). Either we've been visited by multiple alien species in succession, none of which seems to know anything about any of the other alien species flying around, or it didn't happen.

I think that its just one more way to keep people from learning anything on their own. If they are told these scary stories and then convinced that the "guvmint" is conspiring to hide things, people spend all their time running around looking for conspiracies and proof of deception, instead of learning objective facts.

ETs and UFO coverups have been around since the 1950's when the Cold War was at its peak.

Get people worrying about "cosmic" dangers and they will vote for all kinds of money to be spent on defense (hmmm, sort of like the war on terror...hmmm).

You do know the probability of "aliens" showing up just in time for 2012 is about 1 in a googolplex, right?

I think it's all just rubbish.

Considering how governments manage economies, do you really think they would be competent and ingenious enough to arrange such a fiendishly clever and successful conspiracy?
