Is there anyway to create a smaller file size on itunes?

without creating a double? when i create an AAC file it has one file, then the original.

Im not sure if there are any more of them, if there are where are they located? As I used to do this loads and I really have no idea.

switch it to a smaller file size you can switch which you want to convert it to, not just AAC

go to edit>preferences>import settings (next to ask to import CD)

a new little window will pop up

then choose which you want to convert it to

and if you want to know the file sizes, then drag the songs from your itunes to your desktop and then hover over it, and it will show you the file size or you can right click properties to view the file size.

(ie. AAC AIFF MP3 Apple Lossless WAV)

    hope this helped :]

just delete the original. Click File-duplicates. Highlight the mp3s and delete
