What Comes Out Your Mouth From The Bible?

Where's that verse in the Bible talking about watching out what comes out your mouth because what comes out can be sin or something along those lines?

    Matthew 15:11

Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

    Matthew 15:18-20

But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: 20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

    Mark 7:15

There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

    Hope this helps.

Ummm.... I guess you are trying to define exactly WHAT words or things NOT to say. But, you are beginning in the worng place....

When God said this, (I think) it entailed the following:

What you say is a product of wat you THINK. Waht you think is ultimately waht you KNOW. What you know depends on what you believe.

Knowing is only half of life, LIVING is the other. If how you living is in line with wat you KNOW, then what you THINK will be the result of telling others what you BELIEVE.

In short, if you have the (proper and continous...) teachings of God and his omnipotent love and mercy within you, then the fear of "saying the wrong thing" will not be present. Coming to this point takes time, so if you're on a new journey, dont expect simple answers to ANYTHING anymore....

    Hope that helps!

The Pharisees were complaining that Jesus disciples were eating without washing their hands. The Pharisees had a ritual washing that is similar to surgical washing we have today it is very involved.

Jesus stated it is not what goes into a person that defiles him but what comes out of his mouth. He was referring to them knowing they were hypocrites. They may have washed hands but they were teaching lies.

Matthew 15:15 Then there came to Jesus from Jerusalem Pharisees and scribes, saying: 2 “Why is it your disciples overstep the tradition of the men of former times? For example, they do not wash their hands when about to eat a meal.”

3 In reply he said to them: “Why is it YOU also overstep the commandment of God because of YOUR tradition? 4 For example, God said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘Let him that reviles father or mother end up in death.’ 5 But YOU say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother: “Whatever I have by which you might get benefit from me is a gift dedicated to God,” 6 he must not honor his father at all.’ And so YOU have made the word of God invalid because of YOUR tradition. 7 YOU hypocrites, Isaiah aptly prophesied about YOU, when he said, 8 ‘This people honors me with their lips, yet their heart is far removed from me. 9 It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach commands of men as doctrines.’” 10 With that he called the crowd near and said to them: “Listen and get the sense of it: 11 Not what enters into [his] mouth defiles a man; but it is what proceeds out of [his] mouth that defiles a man.”

It may be one of these three verses:

    Ecclesiastes 5: 2

Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.

    1 Peter 3: 10/Psalm 34:13

For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

    Proverbs 13: 3

He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.
