garbage disposal stopped HELP!?

when the disposal stops my husband grabs something from the gargage (maybe an allen wrench) and sticks it somewhere and it starts up. Can someone tell me what tool and where to put it and what to do. he is not home right now and would like to get the stuff sucked down before he sees what I have done lol

    If you dumped bones or something like that down there, you will have to reach in and retrieve it first.

    Then insert the allen key into the allen bolt at the bottom center of the unit. Give it a few turns, in any direction to clear the rest of the jam.

    There is also a red reset button down you'll have to push there if the motor cut off.

    An allen key( probably a 1/4" one ) . or if you can't find it , try the back of a broom handle and try to spin the impellor to free up what's jamming it . Make sure the power is off , unplug if you have one . Then pull out that beer bottle cap or wedding ring.

    There's a little red reset button on the bottom push it to reset .

    under the sink, there a place on the disposal to insert the allen wrench and turn it. that's usually the solution
