Forgot egg in the stuffed shells recipe. What will happen next?

I was suppose to add an egg to the ricotta filling of the shells and forgot. All that is in it is ricotta, parm & moz plus some parsley.

With sauce on bottom and a bit on top with cheese sprinkled on top.

What can I expect?

There are so many options for stuffed shells. I was trying to put some sort of formula together for you. My kids love them so we make all kinds. Here are some ideas: I always use 16oz of ricotta or cottage cheese, add 2 whole eggs to this and mix. Now come the dif ingred, brown your beef or sausage, broil chicken breast, or brown ground turkey use about 1 lb or so, now you can add your favorite shredded cheeses, 2 cups will do it. I also use spinach, broc, fresh herbs, or sundried tomatoes. Lawrey's has a italian seasoning grinder available that adds great flavor. Mix all together and stuff shells. Bake at 350 with whatever sauce you like Barilla Marinara, Knorrs Alfredo or Parma Rosa are my favorites.

The egg is there to hold the cheese filling together. The cheese filling may end up being a little runny, but just let them sit for about 5-10 minutes before you serve them and it will thicken up.

Edit - I just realized that you posted this four hours ago! HAHA...so I guess just use my idea next time.

Source(s): I make lasagne often and I've forgotten to add the egg a couple of times.

The egg just adds moisture & holds the filling together. They may turn out a little runny, but should still taste fine.

I hate it when I do stuff like that after all the work; good luck!
