Enlisted Going to School become an officer?

Ok this may be a long question so I am sorry up front..

I have a high school diploma and I am going to enlist in the Army. I do not have any college classes. I got a 65 on my asvab and want to make a career out of the Army. I am 33 years old so I will be a late starter. My question is.... If I enlist now without any college credits, will I be able to get a BA degree while active duty and move into officer training after 4 or 5 years. Also will the Army pay for my college while I am Active duty.. I do not know what field I want to be in but i am thinking about Human Resource but I also want to fight for my country, so the second part of my question is if I start out in a combat MOS will I be able to move to a HR MOS and how easy is it to do that.. Thank you for your help..

Unless you can get your degree and finish OCS by the time you turn 36, then no. 35 is the age cut-off for getting your commission. Of course, there are waivers if you seek to go that route, but you have to have your degree before you can even apply for one.

The highest age waiver the Army OCS can give is age 34. You would have to be applying for OCS now if you wanted to be accepted.

There is nothing wrong with a career as an enlisted soldier. You can still do your 20 years and have quite a successful career.

The Army will pay for you to attend school while you are active duty. They will actively encourage you to go to school because the military wants a highly educated force.

It is possible to cross train later in your career. When you re-enlist you will have the opportunity to ask to do so. How easy it is depends on if the MOS you are in is properly manned (has the right amount of people) and if the MOS you want to go to is properly manned. If infantry is overmanned and HR is undermanned it will be very easy. But if infantry is undermanned and HR is overmanned it will not be possible for you to go to that specific career.

NO. Warrant officers have a undeniable potential or education it rather is extra advantageous than what you assume from an enlisted guy yet with out all the different education that could justify being a commissioned officer. case in point, copter pilots interior the U. S. military are regularly warrant officers. They comprehend the thank you to fly the copter like a commissioned officer yet because of the fact they lack all the different training of a bachelors degree, they don't get a cost and could in no way be a commander. All they get to do is fly the copter. you do no longer enlist and grow to be a warrant officer. You enlist and grow to be an enlisted. then you definately pass to college and once you graduate you get your degree and your warrant officer rank. (FYI there are not any warrant officers interior the USAF.)

getting your ba while serving in 4 or 5 years is very tough, especially right now. That's probably the worst way of becoming an officer. You have to take into consideration time in iraq, afghanistan. Getting into officer candidate school will be no easy task either. I spent 22 years and retired as an E9 and that's tough enough. I tried one time to be a warrant officer/helicopter pilot but my eyesight wasn't 15/15 or better, it was 20/15, better then most, but not good enough. I personally have never seen it done in 22 years of active duty.
