Do you see similar ethics issues in the two matters of stem cell research and therapy, and abortion?

I do. I mean I see tremendous parallel between these two things. We've got Roe v. Wade, which most agree was sort of an assault on state's rights, but none the less it established a basis, a median of fairness, like it or not. What will be the Roe v. Wade of stem cells? Do we shut it down cold, like Bush tried to do? Or do we open it wide open, and create frankenstein like laboratories? We're going to have to come up with a "Roe v. Wade" moderation for stem cells, I believe. The right answer isn't at one extreme end or the other. A reasonable line will need to be drawn, somewhere. If we could just think of where to draw that line, civilly, and not politically. OK, your turn. Thanks for your thoughtful response.

I do believe that though both can be considered unethical in some cases, Stem Cell research seems more right then Abortion. This is because in abortion it has the controversy of young people needing the fetus removed or else their education will most likely fall as they try to take care of a child while making it through school, yet the act of getting rid of something with a beating heart seems horrible to most people. That is why Roe vs. Wade decided to change the limits and make sure every state does it for the protection of woman's rights to all women throughout the country. On the other hand, stem cell research takes something that most likely will not be born and brings help for those who need it the most.

For abortion the pro is it is for women that can not afford to have the baby

the con is the taking of something that has a beating heart

For Stem cell research the pro is the great medical help it gives us

the con is the disturbing fact of what that help comes from.

I personally, dont think there can be a line to draw for stem cell research. Where could it possibly be? You either do it or you dont. Even if we put a limit as to say what it is used for (what the product of it is, and only use it for the most severe cases) someone will still be mad, just like people are still mad about Abortion- some want it and others are still mad that it is allowed.

USA plans wars even for stem cell research and so there are no chances of stopping them.
