  • Does anyone but me, find the mouse-overs on Yahoo! a real drag?

I mean I browse with my mouse and these big ugly blue windows open all over, for things I'm completely uninterested in. I tried to hold onto the original Yahoo! page, but they've forced the new one on me. Total drag!

  • If Fitch, Moody’s and other credit rating companies committed fraud, why are they not held criminally liable?

They gave the sub prime lending market triple A ratings, up to the point of the financial collapse. If they negligently or intentionally misstated the risks of the sub prime lending instruments, they should be held criminally liable. WHY HAVE THEY NOT BEEN PROSECUTED?

  • Has Obama been purchased?

He's done absolutely nothing to slow outsourcing. He said he would prior to being elected, then after election he said of those jobs being outsourced, that "they're low paying and we don't want them anyway." It really looks like someone or something got to him. This about face from the leader offering change, to this rogue of stand-off-and-just-watch leader is growing ridiculous.

  • Why are the total number of jobs falling? Is it offshore outsourcing?

Let's say for every new job created in America, 2 jobs are outsourced by large corporations. Would that not explain EXACTLY what we're seeing now?

  • How is a "jobless" recovery, any sort of recovery at all?

My employer has cut my pay and everyone else's, why? Because they can. Because no jobs are anywhere. How is this a recovery? With jobs flying out of the country via offshore outsourcing daily, how are things viewed as better?

  • Why did we spend millions to kick up moon dust?

Americans have been raped by corporate america, and yet NASA is building sand castles on the moon's surface. What's with this? Water on the moon? Who cares? How about equalizing some of the fiscal imbalance here on earth!

  • Has Obama done anything to stop offshore outsourcing?

I mean I've been watching, and hoping, and counting on this guy to help to stop this rape of America. But now we're all about healthcare. And America just keeps bleeding jobs.

  • Compare: which is better; Skype or VOIP?

AT&T wants to charge me $150 to install VOIP. I may get to keep my phone number, and I can use all the phones in my house, my home system. It's $30 a month.

Skype lets me talk through my computer for an astounding $5 a month.

What's with this gap? Something is wrong with this picture, and as usual, AT&T gets money, the technology innovator struggles. Help me understand this please?

  • What if this is as good as it gets?

What if America's unemployment rate follows the UK and stays in double digits from now forward? What if outsourcing and the total collapse of manufacturing in America leave us so weak that this "stimulus" package the government is driving forward, is in reality attempting to push our economy to a state that used to be normal, but is no longer possible?

  • Do you feel corruption in America is worse now, or better?

Consider congressional lobbying, corrupt corporate leadership (AIG, etc), the fact the SEC turned a blind eye to Bernie Madoff for so long. I'm inclined to surmise it's getting worse. What is your feeling?

  • Outsourcing is destroying America, is this not crystal clear by now?

Folks, it's that simple. Look at GM's recent bankrupcy and the CEO proudly claiming that operations in China represent the go-forward model.

Will the last laborer in the US, please turn out the lights on your way out?

I think the little flowers are really beautiful, and I've just planted several flats. How do I keep them happy?

  • Substitute for Dursban?

I used to go down to Home Depot and get one of those scary little brown bottles of Dursban, bring it home, dilute with a little water, and spray the perimeter of my house. This took care of bugs. Now I'm finding to get that result, I must hire a professional. I can no longer do it myself. Apparently Dursban has been legally prohibited for retail sale. Now when I go to Home Depot, all I see are powders and spray bottles, for either ants or wasps. I've got some serious creepy crawly things around my house. Any suggestions?

  • Where can I find REALLY high quality t-shirts?

The last batch I got were from Nordstroms. All cotton, small tapered seams on the crew collar and short sleeves. The high quality cotton is shiney. There is no synthetic material in it. It's something along the lines of what Steve Jobs would wear on stage.

When I do an on-line search of high quality t-shirts, I find anything but high quality. Gothic prints, pockets, a bunch of garbage, frankly. Where can I find good, almost silky pure cotton t-shirts?

  • Have the % of institutionally held stocks risen high enough to negate the effectiveness of shareholder's votes?

Is the mismanagement of today's corporations, caused simply because the 401K, mutual fund, insurance funds, and so forth, no longer can exert meaningful voting rights?

  • Are mutual funds destroying America?

Share holders could not rid General Motors of Rick Wagoner. The giant corporation is loaded down with other equally, if not more so, incompetent executives. Is the problem, possibly, that shares are held by so many retirement funds, mutual funds, and other "managed" funds, that competent, thoughtful votes are no longer being cast by individual shareholders?

  • Is it possible to cook lentils with rice in a rice cooker?

I was looking for a way to make my rice and vegetables a little more nutritious, and wondered of the lentils would cook as quickly as the white rice does. Thank you.

  • Do you see similar ethics issues in the two matters of stem cell research and therapy, and abortion?

I do. I mean I see tremendous parallel between these two things. We've got Roe v. Wade, which most agree was sort of an assault on state's rights, but none the less it established a basis, a median of fairness, like it or not. What will be the Roe v. Wade of stem cells? Do we shut it down cold, like Bush tried to do? Or do we open it wide open, and create frankenstein like laboratories? We're going to have to come up with a "Roe v. Wade" moderation for stem cells, I believe. The right answer isn't at one extreme end or the other. A reasonable line will need to be drawn, somewhere. If we could just think of where to draw that line, civilly, and not politically. OK, your turn. Thanks for your thoughtful response.

  • USB current loop -> what is the purpose of these?

You know how some USB cables have a loop? That is, the cable wraps around a small, approximately 1" bracket that closes to hold the loop in the cable. What do those do?

  • Is Catholicism by definition matriarchal?

Or does it manifest that way via culture? Or am I imagining things? Honest, I want to keep an open mind, but I find this striking bend toward matriarchy in both Catholic and jewish homes, and a fairly consistent patriarchal bias or no bias in protestant families. What is with that? How and why, do these cultures adopt gender bias?
