What Religion Did Jesus follow when He was on this earth?
Don't you think that is the religion that we should all be a part of ? He is The Son of God, and He would know which one was the right one. Think about it.
Ok, so you all know he was a jew and followed Judaism, you all did good. Now answer my second question? Yes there are quite a few Jews out there that believe Jesus is the Messiah, they are called Messianic Jews.
We all, because of our sins ,killed Jesus, but it was roman soldiers that beat Him and crucified Him, and it was the Sanhedren that pushed the Romans to do it, there were also many jews there that wept for Jesus as well

Yahshua practiced a purified form of Judaism. Messiah's Judaism. He discarded the man made traditions of the Pharisees and Sadducees. He obeyed the Law of Moses perfectly as an example of the type of holiness that is required proclaiming that he did not come to do away with it. Correctly translated versions of the Brit Chadesha (renewed covenant) show that obedience is a requirement if one wants to be a part of the Kingdom of Yahweh.

Hebrew - the Jewish religion as we know it today started AFTER the time of Jesus, so it would be incorrect to call Jesus a Jew.
And the ancient Hebrew/Israelite religion is no longer practiced, so nobody could join it anyway. In any case, Jesus was highly critical of many of the key religious practices of his time.

Jesus, if he existed, practiced Judaism.
Given his beliefs, he'd most likely be an apostate.
And no, I don't think that's a valid reason for everyone to follow Christianity. Assuming so is just plain silly.

Jesus was born, lived and died a Jew. He gave the apostles the "keys" to the kingdom of His that was to follow the shedding of blood. (Matthew 16 and Matthew 18.) The blood of Jesus that was to cleanse people from their sins was only poured out for us in His death, so His church did not exist before He died for it. He bought it with His own blood, and only after it was out of His body.
The Law of Moses was nailed to the cross of Jesus when He fulfilled it by dying. This can be found in Romans, Colossians and other places in the New Testament.
Therefore, since Jesus fulfilled the old law, it is of no further use for us except to use as an example of how God dealt with His people in the past. Today, we are under the grace of Jesus and not the letter of the Law.

Jesus was a Jew. But he told his apostles to start a NEW church because HE was the son of God. So obviously he wanted his followers to be a part of the new church, that became Christianity.
That is the main difference between christianity and Judaism. Everything about them is the same until Jesus came along, and he changed it all. Since many jews did not believe that Jesus was the son of God at the time, they continued "business as usual", and the ones who DID believe Jesus was the son of God started Christianity.
So no, you're idea is incorrect.

He appeared to be from an ancient sect of Judaism that was more clothed in a veil of nature

Jesus was a Jew and adhered to the practices of Judaism. He taught a higher law and eventually revealed that he was Messiah. For that, they crucified him.
