there is no possible way another tooth could fit in my mouth..the gum behind my last tooth back there is very tender and swollen..it hurts to open my mouth all the way..Does this sound like a wisdom tooth? I can only go to my community oral health clinic and they do not make appts until you are seen as an emergency which is very hard to get into..will it just go away ?

Yes, it does sound like an erupting wisdom tooth.
Most of the time you develop inflammation of the adjacent tissue of an erupting wisdom tooth....and that is called Pericoronitis.
As a result, you may develop restricted opening of the mouth....which is called Trismus.
I work at a community health care center and I know you can get seen the same day if you go in as an emergency patient.
They will be able to give you prescription for pain medication.
Most likely, they will also give you a referral for an Oral Surgeon for the removal of all 4 of the wisdom teeth.
You will have to maintain good oral hygiene.
It will keep on coming back (even if it goes away) until you get the wisdom tooth extracted.
So, the sooner you get it out the better.
Good luck !!

This sounds like a problem called pericoronitis. It is an infection of the gum tissue surrounding an impacted wisdom tooth. It is very common in young adult patients who have not had their wisdom teeth removed. With some warm salt water rinses and antibiotics it usually resolves although in some circumstances it can get very severe requiring hospitalization. If at all possible, you should see a board certified oral surgeon who can treat this problem for you very easily. Good luck to you.

Sorry but it's not going to go away. Your wisdom tooth will continue to try and push it's way out whether there is room or not. I had two of my go ballistic on me in a matter of a week. You need to get them removed because it can cause more severe issues if they are impacted and you ingore them.

yea its a wisdom tooth
lol no it won't go away
there will be 4 of them, and if there is no room they will simply push your teeth forward and make room
now if you had braces as a kid you will have some problems, as your wisdom teeth will ruin your nice straight teeth. they will lurch forward and be like you never had braces
they need to be surgically removed by a dental surgeon. its a common prodecure that almost everyone goes through
so if you want straight teeth you should have them taken care of as soon as possible

Why Pull it out ? If It is not decayed Or Cracked like mine was just leave it in . the best time to pull a Wisdom Tooth is when something is wrong with it and the best person to know this is Your Dentist.

No, it will not just go away. If they are impacted (meaning they won't come through all of the way or will push into the other teeth) they must be removed surgically.
