For those Newspapers that are in danger of going out of business why don't they admit that the real reason->?
This is happening is b/c people are sick & tired of seeing these papers making Celebrity-Hollywood News as the more important front page news than the real news that's happening in this country & world? How many front page Rihanna- Chris Brown top page stories can they print before people get tired of it?
Not some papers like the NY Daily News & 9 others that are in danger right now. Here's the link if you want to check it out.

I think that the American obsession with celebrities is just as annoying as you do. I don't think that Rihanna or Jennifer Aniston should be on the cover of the newspaper every other day. However, as sad as it, that's what sells.
Also, I do not think these fluff stories are really to blame for all the newspapers in jeopardy of going out of business. I am a journalism major so I hear about this all the time. Print media is really struggling right now. There just isn't much of an audience. Why would people want to subscribe to a newspaper or buy one when they could easily get all their news online? And it is not just those newspapers that are struggling. My professor's husband works for The New York Times; she was telling us the other day how when they got their numbers in from last year, they were very bad. And you know you cannot blame illegitimate news for that one. With the economy the way it is and the ever expanding internet news outlets, it doesn't surprise me that so many newspapers are struggling so badly.
It does surprise me though that the Daily News is on there and not the Post. Now if this was solely on newspapers covering gossip, the Post would surely be number one. Now that is a horrible newspaper lol.

I don't know that I fully agree with that. I've worked at a newspaper and there are several reasons that they are struggling. At my local newspaper there is no way Rihanna and Chris Brown would be on the front cover, their story would be in the 1-2 page "entertainment" section. Our local paper is laying people off left and right. The two main reasons are lack of advertisements and lack of subscriptions. The economy is tight, so business are cutting back on their expenses, usually advertising is the first thing to be cut. (I know it was in my own business, we have scaled back big-time in our advertising). Also, people are not subscribing (I personally don't). I can go to any news website and find out what I need to know is seconds and the news is more up-to-date (and more earth friendly). I do think that we will see a time (in my own life) that the newspaper becomes extinct. However, those "celebrity" news papers/tabloids, I think will be around long after the paper is gone, unfortunately, that is what people seem to be most interested in and willing to part with a little of their money for. I do subscribe to several magazines (mostly fashion and parenting). Magazines have a longer shelf-life than papers and I think people will continue to buy magazines. They are going to save their money on the paper that is here today and gone tomorrow in a landfill somewhere b/c they can get all that news online in a matter of seconds.

If God physically appeared before you, do you know what would happen? Your flesh would fry before your very eyes as your eyes disintegrate and your brain would whither into a dried up and shriveled raisin and your skeleton would crumble into dust and your remains would fly off at the blast of His nostrils. Do you now why that would happen? Because God is Purity and Holiness and you (like any other human being) are in a defiled and corrupt state, degenerated, because your heart afflicted with Sin Nature has not been reconciled back to the Father through Christ Jesus and His Redemptive Deed upon the Cross of Calvary; and as a result anything defiled and impure cannot stand before God and live, for "Light pierces the darkness". Even God's Servant, Moses, could not see God face to face, he could only see His back side once and briefly as Moses was protected in the cleave of a mountain side while God swiftly dashed by. So that's why God doesn't "come over for coffee and stuff". It's for your own protection, least you perish.

Wow i am avid reader of The Detroit News i am shocked to see theyre on that list and losing money because of this economy being in the real dumps currently and most businesses are cutting back and not advertising as much like they used to anyone because of this economy but i do agree of getting sick and tired of seeing the same thing on the front page all the time

Since when is Madonna's latest boy toy any concern of mine? I agree with you. I don't buy any of those newspapers. I get my local paper delivered everyday and you know what? I'd rather see a story about a man and his squirrels than celebrities (truly was a front page story in my local yokel newspaper). I also buy the Green Bay Press Gazette from time to time (home town). They don't care about that trash either. Just solid local news, sports and world news. Leave the sensationalism for the tabloids.

Wow as an avid reader of the NY Daily News I'm shocked their losing alot of money, but I agree every time I see the cover of it it's always something that's not even worth being on the front page like Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston's BS feud or anything associated with Arod.

Ugh, I agree. I don't know why the media thinks everyone cares about this crap, when really most people I know don't give a rat's *** what the celebrities are doing. I only read my local newspaper though, which doesn't ever have stories about celebrities.

Um, er, the papers that have Rihanna and Chris, Octomom, and Aliens are all raking in moola and swimming in profitability.
