Chrysler Town and Country--here's a puzzler!?
I have a 2000 T&C. For some reason, when it gets wet, the engine throws the serpentine belt (it's new and shows no sign of wear). I've replaced the idler though not the tensioner. The odd thing is, it only throws the belt when it gets wet. Can someone suggest possible problems that would cause the belt to throw? Thank you in advance for your help.

Look at the 'pivot point' of the tensioner & see if it's aligned. They've a plastic bushing in'em that wears out.

Thats easy, when you hit water or drive through a large puddle, the water gets between the belt and a pulley or tentioner. Since water does'nt compress your belt hydro plans right off. Simple physics. That has been happening ever since cars. and mini vans have gone front wheel drive. If there is a tsb on the problem check with a dealer. if not make sure your splash guard is in place. If it is missing then that is your problem. if no tsb and your guard is still there just slow down. and make sure you are using a factory belt, the others just slide off.

There is a new and improved idler pulley and shield from Chrysler for this problem. Ask your local dealer about it.

that's not a puzzler. there was a service bulletin put out about that exact problem. your mechanic should know about it and what to do to fix it. ours did the same thing. the repair fixed it.
