I think it all depends on the family and how many they can afford with out getting welfare.
I know I think the Dugger family have wayyy too many and Nadya Suleman deffinitly had too many considering she has no daddy for them and lives with her mom.

If you've ever seen the show "18 Kids and Counting", you would know that the answer is, as many as you can afford to support without relying on the government. They have 18 kids, no debt and lots of love to go around. But, take the case of "OctoMom". She has no visible means of support, lives in a 3 bedroom house with her mother and 6 other children on Welfare! If you can't afford to take care of them, stop spitting them out!!!!

To many kids is when you can not financially afford them. It is the parents choice as to how big of a family they want and as long as they can financially/emotionally support them all then the number depends on what they decide. For my family any more then 3 would be too many.

I have three children. I used to say one is not enough and two is too many. I now say that 1 child takes all of your time. 2 children can't take any more time than that. I suggest that you only have as many children as you raise happily and healthfully. Having too many kids can put you into poverty and that isn't fair to them or yourself.

That depends on the family and how many children they can support and how spread out in age they are.
Personally I am all for big families as long as they are taken care of.

As long as you are financially able, and able to give enough love and attention to each individual kid (basically as long as there are significant age gaps), I say it's fine to have as many kids as you want, be that zero or thirty.
