When you go to the fish store, look at the nonaggresive fish and pick the ones you like. They will grow with the tank. They will also get a long, wish is good in my eyes. Rule of thumb, one fish per gallon.
Have fun, I have a 30 gallon tank and I love it.

the biggest fish will probably be a bottom dweller.like a catfish.the fish will grow too big anfd cannot be in a 29 gallon tank.so if you want the biggest fish then it's a catfish or some sort of a shark

Some type of algae eating fish could fit nicely in it, or a small catfish, or a big angel fish. oh but never put snails in a tank with angel fish....I had them in a tank once, left them there, when I came back the angel fish had their insides sucked out, so be cautious. Oh, or a balla shark, they're fairly small and eat anything!
