I NEED HELP NOW! my cat is deffinitlely possessed! NO LIE?
OK SO IM ABSOLUTELY SCARED OUT OF MY MIND AND PLAN ON NOT SLEEPING TONIGHT! I'M TO THE POINT WHERE I JUST WANT TO CRY AND DONT WANT TO BELIEVE ALONE. I am a strong believer or ghosts and paranormal and this is by far the scariest thing i've ever experienced. Ok so it started about 3 weeks ago my mom started feeding this male white cat outside and it started comming back every night around the same time and since it's winter and cold we took it in. The first week was great hes so loveable and if your sitting around the house playing video games, or watching tv etc... he will come up and jump on your lap and go to sleep hes very high mantience you could say. But after the first week everything changed. He will come over to you let you pet him for about 5-10 minutes then he will look at you and his eyes will turn to VERY thin slits glow liek crazy and he will try to attack you! no ones seen this except me until recently but they said hes just in heat which i thinkits way more than that. but he like looks you dead in the eye as if to say wow your so dumb i'm gonna get you! and he doesnt run around liek crazy for no reason like when cats are in heat and he hasnt sprayed yet so idk. But tonight was the worst experience ever. well first of all i forgot to mention that he meows all the time for no reason he will just sit and look out the window and just meow or sit and stare at a wall and meow. as if hes talking to someone or to you. anyways though about tonight i was comming upstairs to bed and he was in the window looking out and when he turned around and saw me he meowed and i of course called him over. He came and was meowing A LOT like we had a full out conversation about what he wanted so then he was beign all cute and i sat on the floor and was petting him he looked so cute adn innocent and then he kept pawing at my legs as if he wanted me to sit criss cross like he would pace back and forth looking at them and placing his paw nicely on them so i did and he came up onto my lap and made himself comfy . then he decided he wanted to lay vertical on my chest and tummy so i leaned against the wall and he laid down. i pet him for maybe 3 minutes and all ofa sudden he started meowing again and turned his head so far around that i'm surprised it didnt break! his eyes turned to teh slits and i know that some animals can sense fear so i tried to calm down but you just know when am animal is gonna attack so i was like NO in a nice voice but alittle aggressive so he understood and he just stared at me and started lifting his lip cheeks like dogs do to growl and he showed me his fangs. then i tried to push him off and he just like grabed onto my pants and i pushed him off an dhe stared chasing me and i stoped all of a sudden and he ran into my legs and growled so loud and with the deepest voice i've ever heard in my life that i was so scared. i tried to lead him out to the living room so that i coudl escape into my bedroom which worked but then for some reason as i was making this site he was in my room adn onym bed watching me. my step dad says he knwos that he cant open doors but wtf? how did he get in here? this si the second time that he randomly appeared in here. i'm so scared plase tell em what to do! and hurry!

I am a believer in the paranormal also, ghosts, spirits, and all the like. So trust me, I know how easy it is for your mind to jump to the paranormal as an explanation when something creepy like this happens. But, there IS an explanation for this behavior.
1. When his eyes turn to slits, that is due to lighting. It is like when your pupils get smaller when someone shines a bright light in your face. My cat's eyes do that all the time. In our culture, most evil creatures and demons are illustrated as having slits for eyes, I think it has to do with snakes. But rest assured, a cat's slit eyes are no more evil than your round eyes.
2. He isn't neutered. This is causing him to be very aggressive. His raging hormones are telling him to be nice one minute, and then "challenge" you the next. That is why he is attacking you so randomly. AND/OR...
3. He may be sick. This cat may have something as minor as an ear infection, or as major as rabies. A behavior change in a cat, especially one that makes him act crazy, can be a sign he is in distress. AND/OR...
4. You are looking him strait in the eyes. With any animal, you should never look them straight in the eyes!! Animals, even cats, see this as a sign of aggression towards them. He thinks that you are challenging him. It is okay to look in his eyes for a second, but don't stare at him.
Here is what I recommend you do:
First, is your family serious about keeping him? If you truly want him as a pet, you need to take him to the vet to get fixed. This will only cost about $40 bucks and will eliminate most of this aggressive behavior. Also, it is important to get the vet to check up on his health and make sure he isn't sick. You need to make sure you have this cat up to date on his shots also. Not to scare you, but if he has rabies that would certainly not be good for your family.
If you don't plan to keep him, I recommend taking him to the local No-kill animal shelter. They will take him in, neuter him/update his shots, and adopt him out to a loving family.
Good luck with your kitty! I'm sure everything will work out alright ;)

it is rarely the case where your cat is possessed. Cats are usually the guardians of the gateways of hell so they rarely become possessed. It is more likely that is cat has some severe psychological issues. If this cat starts growling at you, do not look the cat in the eye. In the animal kingdom if you look a cat in the eye you are challenging them. Also you can try hissing at the cat if he begins to growl at you because it does show that you are the boss. I know it can be freaky when cats just appear, My cats do that all of the time and I admit that it is freaky. Most demons of any kind would not chose to possess a cat, they would go straight for a human body. My cat does some pretty freaking stuff too. She acts sometimes the same way. It could be that if you do believe in ghosts and paranormal, that your place has a ghost and the cat began to act abnormal because the cat could sense evil. Animals are very good at sensing evil. The meowing constantly is sign of heat however, if he is growling you can also hit him on the nose hard enough to make your point. Cats can turn their heads almost completely around, it is quite freaky. There are bug such as a pray mantis that can turn its head completely around. So this isn't abnormal to see either. You might want to take this cat to a vet so he can get checked out. He may have rabies as well. Rabies not only makes a cat aggressive but comes in phases. The cat at times could seem content and all of the sudden snap. The disease fries the brain of the animal so get this animal checked because a bite from the animal could pass the rabies to you. Good luck with this cat, he may just be aggressive as most male cats are.

I actually have to make sure a door clicks closed (shut tight) or my cat can find a way to open it (he'll pull at the door or the knob).
Its possible that the cat wants to be friendly with you but is uncertain, and keeps picking up scents it doesn't like on you. (lol, not saying it can smell fear... but who knows. Maybe it senses your uneasiness, and it makes the cat uneasy).
Also you gotta ask yourself: WHY would a cat be possessed? Wouldn't that be... kinda counterproductive to the spirit/ghost/demon...whatever? I mean... if you want to go after people, use a person. A cat is so frail compared to a person, even stumbling over them by accident can hurt them...an intended kick could do serious damage. I don't believe in this kinda stuff, but just from a observers viewpoint... its a lame choice for a haunting. if you're a big bad Demon from the burning fiery pits of hell, would you choose a tiny fluffy kitty? Heck no.. I'd be human (for versatility), maybe a bear..cause that's going to do some serious carnage. But not a cat.
I think your cat just needs patience and time to learn to trust you and vice versa.
Its just an itty bitty weirdo kitty. :)

I can assure you that the cat isn't possessed although at times they appear to be that way.
Is the cat on heat or is there a cat in the neighbourhood that could be on heat because this makes their behaviour go a little crazy.
Cats can be very fast and get into rooms without you seeing them.
Because this is a stray cat it could have any number of diseases so you need to be very aware of that.
Crazy behaviour like this in a cat can also be the result of not just a sickness but an accident such as a bad knock to the head and yes, they can have major psychological issues.
If this cat continues to show aggression I'd try to catch it and take it to the animal welfare
Because you're a strong believer in paranormal things, you could also be seeing the cat under another light because of your imagination. It's like watching a very scary movie late at night and then when you go to bed you start hearing noises.

I seriously doubt your cat's possessed.
He's a tom, and if he's not been neutered, he will go aggressive on a moment's notice. My sweet little cuddlecat Jher does it all the time. I have the scars to prove it. He'll be sleeping on my chest, I'll reach up to give him a chin rub and he'll grab me and bite and bunny kick me out of the blue.
As for his suddenly appearing in your room, hubby and I call that "kittyporting". Cats have the uncanny ability to dart into a room when you're sure they're not, or be behind you and suddenly in front of you because they dashed by when you weren't looking.
As for the meowing at nothing? Again, both of our cats do that. They'll hold what sounds a lot like one side of a conversation with a wall, Christmas tree, or whatever strikes their fancy. It's just a cat thing. I think they just like the acoustics.

First of all male cats do not go into heat.. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/When_do_male_cats_go_int...
next ..wow either you have got a very very vivid imagination or you are really over reacting to normal cat behaviors ...hes probably picking up on how freaked out you are and its freaking him out! Also i wont say i dont believe in ghosts and beings that could be malevolent but getting all afraid and freaking out will just fan the flames so to speak and make a situation like that even worse. But I really just think you are freakin over nothing
Source(s): you really should take him to the vet tho if he continues to howl and stuff ..he could be in pain (anything from an ear infection to a tooth ache or a stomach problem) ... and that could explain alot of the things you are describing - 1 decade ago
No, your cat is NOT possessed.
It is likely, though, that he is probably in some kind of pain if he is acting strangely. When my cat starting doing crazy things, we took him to get checked and it turned out he had a bad ear infection and fever.
Sometimes it is an animals way of showing distress. Get him checked by the Veterinarian.

Haha sorry, but this has to be one of the most funniest things I've read on here! Anyways, if your serious, I have a cat just like that, except he doesn't attack me. Maybe he is just playing with you? Idk, haha. Anyways as for appearing out of nowhere, cats are really smart and sneaky animals and I've seen cats open doors. Also, when he is meowing I'm thinking he might just want to go outside. My cat does that too so we let him outside and he's fine.

I'm guessing you have never had a cat. This poor homeless cat needs to be neutered and have a check up. You are very dramatic and I think you imagine things to be more than they are. If you are so friggin scared of the cat then take him to a shelter. I have a black cat I like to call Devil Cat sometimes. She is black and evil and she would scare the likes of you to death.
