no, because the virus is still inclosed within the pc's internal memory. A virus gets in and attacks a lot of things it deleated thing, and even runins trhings. if you try tio delete most of the things on your pc. it will still be there beceause a vitrusus tryes to work faster to make more virus problems then you can take to fix the problems you need to hasve someone completly stripp all of your pc info and rebuild it from the basics. Its one of he only tru effective ways...andf remember you need to use your virus protection soft ware every night.

No not exactly. Depends on the viruses.

Most viruses come with infected files and deleting those infected files cause the virus to be deleted.

Try getting an anti virus program, norton internet security 2009 is good.

If however your PC is pretty messed up with viruses, no deleting everything except basic files will not delete the viruses since most high risk viruses embed themselves in the operating system files and registry.

If you format your hard drive and re install you operating system then your PC will be totally free of viruses.

The problem is that the viruses infect those basic things. Get a good antivirus program, turn system restore off and delete all viruses. Turning system restore off stops the viruses form getting back into the system as they infect the restore files. I as a matter of fact never reput system restore back on, its sort of useless. Only for people who will be prone to mess up their computer up.

Try it and see if it works, if you have some serious bugs on your pc then i suggest you check some manual debugging programs off f-security http://support.f-secure.com/enu/home/ols.shtml

No - and AVG is a great idea.

If that doesn't work, you need to backup or copy everything in your MyDocuments folder, and reinstall everything from your recovery cd or recovery partition on the computer.
