And what is it you like to do there best? I'm looking at traveling this Fall and outside of hitting up Kilkenny, I'd like to know what else is recommended.

I absolutely loved the Arran Islands.We went to a small Island off Galway,lovely and quiet if that's what you like.You hire a push bike to get around the small island and they are still speaking Gaelic in the pubs in the country as their first language.Oooo.. and not forgetting the celtic busking they have at night in the bars!How quaint!!!!

Agreed that you should head west to Galway, Kerry, and Dingle. I've enclosed a list of the best things to catch in Ireland

Um Lahinch in Clare is great for surfin and a general laid back theme. Actually all the west of Ireland is good!!
