It would be fine, provided that it is a concoction you've made at home with a tea bag and purified water. You would certainly not want to use anything store bought that could contain corn syrup, sugar or any coloring or additional unnecessary ingredients that could clog your steamer or your skin. Green tea when ingested is FAR more beneficial than green tea applied topically. This is due to it's free radical fighting properties. When ingested green tea fights the free radicals that cause aging, have been linked to cancer prevention,(probably due to aiding in creating an alkaline body environment),has been proven to lower LDL (bad) and increase HDL (good) cholesterol and aids in digestion as it is good for the stomach, especially when warm. It is recommended for non tea drinkers to take a green tea supplement. The main benefit and only real known, proven benefit to applying green tea to the skin topically is that it soothes and calms the skin...all of the major health benefits require one to actually consume the tea so that the poly phenols enter the blood stream directly. So while green tea would make an excellent aromatherapy/skin soothing mist from a steamer the greatest of it's benefits could not be obtainable via that method alone. Adding 2 servings of hot or cold green or better yet white tea (more potent) a day to your diet will reap amazing anti aging, anti stress benefits that will greatly improve the quality of your skin.

(Green tea has also been used to aid in weight loss as well as been known to reduce excess oil production in acne prone/oily skin when consumed on a daily basis for an extended period of time.)

My preferred brand is Salada green tea, generally sold in tea bags 12-48 count boxes often found in local grocery stores.GNC sells a great supplement for those that don't prefer the taste, the caffeine or do not wish to drink it daily.
