What does omschrijving mean in English?
I saw this word on internet bank transfer page, it is literally translated as 'definition.' Is it where the personal remarks should be filled in? Thanks.

Omschrijving is indeed 'description'.
In terms of the internet banking, it is a box with a couple of lines where you can fill in details relevant to the transaction
e.g. if you are paying a invoice then fill in the invoice number (factuurnummer)
e.g. if you are paying car tax then you can put the reference number here and/or your car registration number
So it is an open field which you can leave blank if you wish, but filling in a couple of details does help (for the receiver when matching payments against bills when not using the acceptgiro number, and also for you if you want to remember what the payment was for in the future)
