Your exactly right, i was in 5th grade when I stopped believing in this god and turned to science. A lot of my questions were, Why does he want people to suffer such as places in Africa. Why is HE almighty powerful not doing something better if he loves us so much. This is one of the reasons I turned to science it has backed up theories and reasoning and they don't come from a 2500 year old book. Another thing is that's the point of the religion of Christianity they ant you to give yourself up before god and Jesus and not please yourself but him and basically what that is saying is "worship me and do it good or burn in hell" and I rather live my life on earth and you know what if there is a god I will worry about that later but I am going to enjoy my self now. It is a good thing we had the Renaissance because they showed us its better to live well here and now...

Aparently he can be pleased....when Jesus was baptized and came out of the water...God said this is my son Jesus with whom I am greatly pleased...Also apparently Jesus dies for mankind so that we could be forgiven and viewed as christlike in Gods eyes...therefore he can be pleased with us...However, as far as why we should obey him and why we can't be left alone...well if you had a toy you really liked would you just leave it alone? Also, if we are allowing for the fact that god may exist, he is the one that gave us our natural conscience so it goes back to the toy and the master of the toy...-__-
