re:Subic rape case . . .?

Years ago, a Filipina was allegedly raped in Subic, Philippines by US servicemen... specifically Daniel Smith... after going out with them. She just met them thru her sister. Due to public clamor, he was convicted but due to the existing Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA) b/w the US and Philippines, Smith was since under house arrest in the US Embassy.

Here's the point, after almost 4 years, the rape victim fires her lawyer, claims she's no longer interested with the case, then reportedly flew to the US for good. Why did she chose the US as an option to migrate? Is the US Embassy eager to get rid of her from the Philippine media that they gave her a VISA? Is the VFA one sided?

Why did she choose the US? Because it's a great place to live.

Is the US embassy eager to get rid of her and get her out of the spotlight? I wouldn't doubt it.

I don't even understand the third question.

I do think that after 4 years of being reminded constantly of the rape, she might want to relocate and get far from it.

I personally dont buy any of that woman's shít. Many young girls are being "actually raped" there in the Philippines yet cant seek justice. Smith should not be convicted of rape based on the evidence presented and actual facts. That Nicole just needs another piece of american meat in her nmouth to shut the hell up.

Sexual assaults of any kinds are wrong, damaging, and illegal..yes, it is a crime and many victims do come forward..and report that they were raped and the predator is arrested, convicted and serves jail time..how a victim deals with such a crime is different..hopefully victims seeks out justice through the criminal justic system, seeks out counsleing for healing and closure.
