Since Congress seems to run businesses so well, why not...?

... have them just break up AIG into smaller companies. The divisions that hold these toxic assets could go bankrupt. The rest could continue to be profitable. It would cost us FAR less.

Congress did SO well breaking up AT&T 30yrs ago!! (But, that's another subject)

AIG should be broken up, but not run by congress.

Are you being sarcastic? What do you pay for long distance? I pay less than my parents did 30 years ago. Seem like a rousing success, if you ask me.

Meanwhile, the free market has demonstrated admirably that it needs a little oversight here and there.

Congress can't run congress. Do you really wanting them to run banking, healthcare, etc?
