My last name is supposed to be Irish, because I'm Irish on my father's side. Many years ago, apparently, my great great grandfather left Ireland because the cops were after him. He new a guy from England who'd immigrated to Canada, so he asked that guy to vouch for him, and he changed his last name to that guy's name so he could escape to the new world.
From there, the family immigrated down into the states. When people see me, they say, "WTF?" This is because I've got an English name which seems not right by my appearance.
Plus, I love to drink!

San Diego's Midget Land!!!
I have been "there" many times in high school and the houses look abnormally small. The dead give away was how small the doors were, but the explanation says that its an illusion with the way the house is positioned with the road. I have never had the courage to get up close enough to the door to see first hand...but IMHO they look smaller than normal.

Keuka College on Keuka Lake in New York State has a dorm called Ball hall named after the gentleman who contributed much to the college. Mr. Ball's wife is apparently buried in the cemetery up the road from the college and legend has it that the head stone is sinking into the ground. When the face of his wife, which is on the head stone, vanishes into the ground, Ball Hall is supposedly to go up in flames. The headstone is almost all the way into the ground...

ever hear the one about the undead horse?
this is one from where I use to live in Macon, GA
the tale goes that back in the early days of this country when men rode horses into war, there was a soldier and his horse...
the soldier loved his horse and didn't want to take him with him into war because he knew he wouldn't be coming back
he chained the horse up in a graveyard and left to go to war
the horse waited for the soldier to return...
he waited, and waited...
and waited...
the soldier never came back and the horse eventually died of starvation
they say if you go to the cemetery and listen really closely, you can hear the sound of chains rattling
and you might even hear the cry of the horse looking for his master
