Do you think the North East has a stereotype of the South East in the USA?
I lived in Boston for 13 years before moving down south...My mom and brother who still live up there say I've acquired an accent. However, I'll admit when I first came down I thought school would be a breeze, boy was I ever wrong! The schools here are actually harder than the Northern States or Boston anyway. I actually struggled in the school system here. I sorry if this offends anyone it's just I don't think people understand that Southerners arn't stupid, actually they're smarter,,,go figure..

yeah.
they stereotype one another.
northern people think that southern people are all "rednecks" or "hillbillies" and that they aren't smart and sit around being lazy, watching Nascar (lol) or that's what a lot would say on here if you asked them what they thought about people from the south. The south actually has a lot of the top colleges, yes. it's no breeze. some of the nation's most influential people came from the south.
southern people call the northerners "yankees" and really just don't like them, just because they don't wanna & they seem really stuck up and obnoxious.
neither like the other one's accent.
