HOw do you stop people from sending you spam i have daily emails from people with rude comments on them.?

You can stop a lot of them by using filter words ..here is a good info page http://help.yahoo.com/tutorials/cg/mail/cg_filter5... just set the filter to a word that is common in the emails you are getting ..like for me it was the word "viagra" ..ug how annoying ..and i just set them to send them right to trash

I've had the same trouble but not in yahoo, only on my web based email, I get upto 70 a day and only about 10 a day are proper emails, I keep deleting them to without opening but got so sick and tired of it I opened one or two and tried to click on the opt out buttons but they don't work. Maybe someone who has you email address is doing it but that would be quiet nasty and you don't deserve that rubbish, the only thing I can think of is to check in your security to see if you have a spam controller, I do and its set to normal, but am scared to change it (thats how is was set up by the provider) in case it blocks mail that I want, I hope you can get it sorted, maybe ring your provider because they can usually help you, goodluck, hope you work it out! :)

Click options top right of your mail box then click spam protection and select your choices. Also when spam comes in tick the little box beside the message then click spam. Also click on your bulk icon and make sure spam guard is on. If not turn it on. If you are in the habit of subscribing to a bunch of junky stuff stop doing that and never reply to spam.

You can not completely stop all spam, but you can help to put a big dent in it.

First, try not to open any of them, that only makes them send more and more to you.

Check mark them and click on 'Spam,' this should stop those addresses from being delivered to your inbox.

Use your spam filter and block address.

Look for the 'Options' link at upper right corner of mail screen and click on it

Options/ mail options / spam preferences

make sure spam guard is on, click on save changes

Options /mail options / blocked addresses

Enter the E-mail address you wish blocked and click on 'add block'

you will never get mail from that address again.

This should help you to control your spam.

Other tips:

Never open E-mail unless you are absolutely sure who it is from.

Never give out your personal information to anyone.

If at a website and you must sign up for something, check the entire page to make sure you uncheck any lines wanting to send you notices, info, or ads.

I get those ,too, and I certainly am not interested in hot blonde girls! lol. all you can do is mark them as spam.(I also get ones offering me viagara--or to enlarge an item I don't have!)

i use the "return to sender" button, it costs them a dime for every one they get back

check them as spam on yahoo mail and then they won't come anymore

Block those people.
