How can I clean my converse?

My converse had an unfortunate event with mud and well now there's mud all over them. Can I use the washer and dryer for them or is there a special way of washing them?

Any help would be awesome

wash them in washer and let air dry and not in the sun they have to dry form the inside out or they'll crack leather.

Fill the bathtub or a bucket with warm water and add some dish soap. Submerge your shoes, and if you want you can let them soak for about 20 minutes to loosen up any dried mud. Then you can scrub them in the water with a sponge. That would be the most thorough way. Then just rinse with clean water. To dry them, open up the tongue of each shoe and aim a fan at them.

I heard toothpast did a great job, try it on the inside of the shoe so if it stains, I won't get sued!!
