Why is Obama wanting to make Veterans pay for their service connected disabilities.?

He wants to tap the Insurance companies who insure Veterans to pay for healthcare connected with service connected disabilities. What employer would hire a veteran if he knows that it will impact his insurance premiums? How is this fair to the wounded veterans?

The VA pays for service connected disabilities....thats what the disability rating is for.

An employer cannot refuse employment because of disability or veteran status.

Any veteran that is subjected to discrimination because of either of those reasons has the right to take that employer to court.

From what I read in the Army Times... the new bill states that the VA will pay the remainder of what a primary insurance company does not pay (ie.. the deductible and/or any uncovered amount)

He's not. This was only ever a proposal under consideration by the administration...along with many others, I'm sure. Please try to keep up. It has been rejected.

Captain: Why don't YOU tell the truth? Obama was against this during the campaign when McCain suggested it. It was the Right who spent that past day or so insisting that Obama was adopting this plan.

I am pleased to say that I predicted exactly this: Obama would reject the idea and the Right would try to claim it was in response to "pressure".

  • "No official proposal to create such a program has been announced publicly,"

Obama is considering the proposal that is a long way from legislation. When it comes before congress as a bill is when I'll start to scream.

That proposal was rejected. Check out the website.

Hater Police, tell the whole truth now... he changed his position because of political pressure and because the Department of Veteran affairs raised hell.

But if he had it his way he would have gladly dishonored our American heroes and doing so in a time of war. Shameful and disgusting.
