    Umm.... I'm not sure with my answer because I'm just 13.

    235/400 x 100% = 58.75%

    164/400 x 100% = 41%

    I'm not sure this is the correct answer but that's how my teacher teach me last year...

    Glad I can help.

    The formula is simple

    235 divided by 400 = 0.587

    0.587* 100 = 58.7

    Therefore 235 is 58.7% of 400

    Similarly 164 is 41% of 400

    x% of 400 = 235 ==> x = 235/400

    Similarly for the other one 164/400.

    It is neat to see math that is not just theoretical

    To do this easily, just get out your calculator on your operating system (presuming you have XP or Vista). You hit the number 235, hit the divide sign, and 400, and you get 0.5875. Move your decimal 2 places to the right, and you get 58.75%.

    Repeat for second number. 164 / 400 = 0.41 = 41%
