Carbon credits and new energy?

If Obama keeps his promise to enact a Carbon cap and trade policy . This will cripple electric utilities that use coal fired power plants (Obamas own words) . If we do in fact rely on wind and solar power to produce our energy needs, will there be enough energy and if not, what are we going to plug our new electric cars into?

Update:

Essie it's not bogus, Obama has said all along he WILL do this. He claims it will force America to change to cleaner fuel.

Update 2:

Lil Barry- Good point, with all of his speeches he could run a turbine for days

Update 3:

Answer- good answer and interesting outlook. What will we do between now and then? We have a lot of cars that run on fuel and the majority of our power plants are coal fired. I see a huge increase in energy costs until this new energy is online.

Update 4:

I agree that Global warming/Climate change is a hoax. But this carbon cap and trade bill is a real issue that is going to cause real pain to the American Middle class. The electric car is a shot at Obama today meeting in an electric car plant today. As the American people we are basically powerless to stop this agenda from being forced upon us.

Essie is correct. Read what she said. You are not reading. As to me I believe Global warming is not man made and just like Y2K, it is just a big lie. Carbon cap will destroy our country and it's economy

There are two questions mixed up in Big Al's Big lie. First is there global warming and two is it caused by man?

The first answer is no so the second question is mute.

Notice they are calling it "climate change" now? What happened global warming?

If he wants clean fuel go Nuclear.

Electric car?? Yeah, energy used to mine, make, transport and did we forget dispose of those batteries?

When you plug your car in were do you think the electricity comes from? COAL POWERED power plant!

Source(s): Guess who profits financially from the bogus carbon credits. Yes that would be Al Gore!

This is especially going to hurt the Midwest. Some areas of the country do not get enough solar or wind to produce an adequate amount of energy to support the areas they would service. This is just another outrageous tax that will force more manufacturing overseas and cause homeowners to live without power because they won't be able to afford these taxes on top of everything else he is burdening the taxpayers with. He is doing nothing to help the USA.

Electric cars my …! Who the hell wants a stupid electric vehicle that you have to recharge every 100 miles, or get up to a blazing 50mph on the highway. Today I took a ride on an experimental bus, and it scared me. Those pointers on that big dial went from green the red every time the gas pedal was pressed on.

I prefer the internal combustion engine thank you.

Your right about the cap and trade emissions. Not only will it bankrupt the coal industry it will also tax any business that emits any amount of CO2, which can only mean massive inflation. Global warming is a myth that we can least afford.

  • Obama is a doofus. We need to put a wind turbine in front of the windbag's pie hole.

I loathe the whole bogus "carbon credit" crap. It's fake fear mongering and group think.
