do you think John Hopkins got the short end of the Kawasaki stick in MotoGp?
I just think it was wrong for him to get dissed over the new signing MarcoMelandri. Melandri went to Kawasaki after not coming to grips with the DucatiGP8 which was a championship winning bike, so the bike wasnt a problem..Sure Stoner has smashed every teammate he's ever had,( Hayden is next...)What did Melandri think he would do on a Kwacker??...He's been a warrior his whole GP career and surely deserved to show what he could when he was healthy and "Hardware-free"
But to have to go to Stiggy Honda instead of Kawasaki Factory team?...i could be wrong, but i really think he'd be doing better than Makoto Tamada who is an absurdly consistent 22nd on the grid.....
Anyone feel me??
regarding the 10R in WSBK, im still bitter about what happened with Chris Walker. you'd rather have Slow-koto Tamada, and Regis Slackoni than the Stalker.....Wonder which head PSG1 thought with
Usually former GP riders that defect to WSBK usually do well........Except Tamada. If Kwacker really needed a jap rider,i'd say Yanagawa to WSBK, and Tamada back to JSB....Akira knows the 10r best....

I think Melandri is the better rider. though it looks like Hopper might have the last Laugh. Im with Colette on Brock Parkes being a class rider. But I also rate Tamada as a good quality rider. Given a quality ride I would think he could hold his own. But Im a fan of the japanese riders and it will be interesting to see which of the Kwacker riders end up on top. Haslam is showing how wrong I can be about riders and their skill level. so it will also be good to see how Hopper stacks up against him. I think he will be happy to be racing in the WSBK series.
rather than racing a dying kawasaki in GP
Edit .. I agree Akira would be a good choice. and he does know the bike. Iv also said I would like to see Nakasuga riding in the WSBK. and your probably right about putting tamada Back in JSB. I dont know why he hasnt clicked in SBK.

Some people consider WSBK inferior series against MotoGP. Some say WSBK is where old MotoGP riders go to retire. I do not see it that way. The nature of the series is different, but they share a lot of DNA
I´d rather ride a Top 10 WSBK bike, than a underperforming bike in MotoGP. Well, Stiggy is not exactly top 10, but that´s the challenge that may drive Hopper during 2009. I know the money issue is somehow different, but both are top international categories, In the eyes of many fans WSBK is growing and MotoGP is stagnated at best.
Tha fact that the best rookie this season is on a WSBK tells a lot about this rivalry.
It will depend on Melandri and Hopper what they do out of this year. Attitude will be hugely important for them this year as both come from a self-confidence destroying seasons.

Hopkins will have way more fun racing in wsbk and he'll be better of on a Honda then on the Kawasaki.
The Kawasaki isnt a top competing bike yet but it I think it will do better in wsbk this year with Broc Parkes on it.
I guess the Kawaski team in Moto GP wanted Melandri because he did well on a Honda previous years and after a lot of dissapointing years for Kawa its good for them to have some fresh new hope in Melandri.

I would much rather be riding for Stiggy Honda then the " Hayate " Team.
Kwacker has already said, they are pulling 100 % effort from the team at the end of March, so that leaves the Hayate boys in deep poop.
Stiggy will do well this year, you never know, they might even show the Hannspree boys were to go !
