My computer has onboard nvidia 128mb 6150 graphics. What graphics card is this equivalant to?

allthough the nvidia 6150 is a intergrated video device its far superior to other similar onboard video such as sis,s3 and intel and since it also has shader model 3.0 support you may be able to run some of the older direct x 9 games

as a equivalant card i would imagine something like the geforce 4ti,or the radeon 7000 would be the nearest in performance

however for serious gaming the nvidia 6150 isnt really up to the job and you can easily upgrade for less than fifty pounds,for example you can get something like the Asus HD3850 512Mb PCI-E ( http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/Other+products... a excellent example of a decent gaming card that wont put a dent on your bank balance

and its performance isnt that bad aswell,it has a 668mhz core clock and 512mb of ddr3 memory clocked at 1800mhz,and combined with the 256bit memory bus and you have a pretty strong gaming card for its price

even the cheaper GeForce 9500GT 512MB( http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Graphics... is worth considering and in comparison to the onboard nvidia setup this is pretty strong

Sounds like it's a GeForce 6 series at best. NVIDIA is currently on the GeForce 9 series, so it's pretty old. Integrated graphics are usually pretty bad anyway (for gaming anyway) so it will be worse than that.

Find out what kind of slot your computer has (AGP or PCI-E etc) or provide the model number.

You can then find a better card at Newegg.com or similar sites if you want a better card.
