Why can't I drag album artwork into iTunes anymore?
I had to start completely over with my iTunes because I had a virus that destroyed my old hard drive. Anyhow, the LONELY 12 albums I have in my iTunes are all purchased CDs I imported. Am I not able to drag pictures into iTunes at all anymore or is it just because they're imported albums? How can I resolve this? When I've tried to, I get a mini black 'prohibited' sign (circle with a slash through it). If I wanted to download artwork from iTunes, is is free and where do I find this feature? Lots of questions, but I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Some music has DRM protection and therefore cannot be altered in any way. You can however click on Store then Authorize Computer on iTunes so you're able to play the songs and have more access to them. You can also buy the Plus version of these songs which have no DRM and can be freely used however you want but they go for 30cents a song. Should this not be the problem, select all songs or the folder/album that is on Music and go to Get Info > Artwork > drag and drop here whatever jpg or gif image file you have on your pc. Most of the times if iTunes has all the information from your songs it will get the artwork. For that first go to the iTunes Store right there on iTunes log in, then select all your songs, right click then Get Artwork, that's probably the easiest way but doesn't always work if music is missing information, etc. If none of these fixes it, re-install iTunes or windows itself.

Try upgrading your iTunes to the latest version. Otherwise I'm not sure, if you can't drag in the artwork, just try highlighting all the songs, right-click and go to properties and then on the artwork part just click that and browse to the artwork you want it to use, that should work.
