Nudist/Naturist question for non-nudist/naturist?

If winter coats were illegal, would you freeze in the winter because it was socially expected of you, or would you put on a coat for comfort, even though it was breaking the law.

I understand that all things being equal, we should all be clothed when in public, but if it gets very hot outside, requiring people to wear clothes to me is like forbidding them to wear coats in the winter. The human body has evolved to use evaporative cooling, clothing interferes with that. Mandating clothing when people are dying from the heat strikes me as irrisponsible. So the question really is, is social responsibility worth endanging ones life.

Update:

Another twist on the question >

Would you rather see someone dead or naked?

Would you rather die than have someone see you naked?

Update 2:

Thanks Sonja

everyone else, if your going to dodge the question, don't answer the question

Update 3:

Per Capita the incidence of skin cancer among Nudist/Naturist is actually lower than that of the rest of society. How can one be sure it doesn't have anything to do with those sunblock chemicals we slop all over our bodies, or the fact that we spend less and less time outside so when we do go out we rely on those "miracle products" not to mention that we're hitting the sun at UV indexes of 9 and up, rather than getting a natural tan when the UV is lower. Perhaps the increase in skin Cancer is a function of our ever increasingly hectic lifestyle.

Funny thing is, that wasn't a part of the question. If your uncomfortable answering the question please don't answer

You're forgetting something though. Clothes aren't just for keeping us warm, they also protect us from harmful rays of the sun. That's why if you visit a country like Egypt, where it is insanely hot, people are still draped in clothes. You don't want to get sunburned and even a t shirt and shorts can protect you from that.

Personally, I have nothing against nudists or naturists. I think your argument is interesting but nevertheless weak because people would literally freeze to death in some parts of the world for going without a coat in the winter, whereas how much heat you take in does not change drastically if you put on a t shirt. If you want to walk around naked that is fine by me but instead, I would use the argument that we came into the world naked so why wear clothes unless it's too cold to go without.

EDIT: I would rather see someone naked than dead but those aren't the stakes here.

I would rather have someone see me naked (obviously) than for me to die...:)

First of all, I have had a skin cancer tumor removed twice from my shoulder. I have had skin cancer and my doctors informed me that it was from all the years of growing up and swimming in a mini bikini. The tumors were in the area of my bra strap. The sunshine is extremely intense and our bodies do not need to be exposed to the sun without proper clothing and good sunscreen. The percentages of skin cancer continue to rise every year, and more people die from skin cancer., With due respect, I respectfully disagree with your paragraph because our human bodies should not be exposed naked to the sunlight. If it is summer and we are wearing a short sleeve shirt, we should still wear good sunscreen. In conclusion, I urge all readers of my answer to research skin cancer and to protect their skin always!

You're only required to cover certain areas on your body. Both sexes can still leave the majority of their body uncovered, not that I condone that.

okay, wearing clothes wont kill you, its a fact

so shoosing between dying or being naked isnt equal

if its warm outside, go put on a bathing suit and go swimming

seriously, this is a stupid question.
