Name or type of e-mail server?
How do I find out the name or type of e-mail server my computer is using? I am trying to send e-mail using Windows and they keep asking for this info - I am kind of technically challenged. It asks for the name of my outgoing and incoming e-mail server. I am at a loss!! Please help!!!

There are 2 types of e-mail programs....
1. Online e-mail programs such as hotmail and yahoo mail. These programs will host your e-mails on the hosts computer. This allows you to check your e-mails from many different providers and computers. If you decide to change your internet service provider you can still use the e-mail address.
2. E-mail program installed on your computer such as outlook. When using outlook contact your internet service provider for your Pop3 and Smtp settings. Your internet service provider will assist you in setting up your unique e-mail account. If you change providers you will lose your e-mail address.

It relies upon who you have the digital mail account with. If it is your ISP, touch it and ask approximately those settings. If it is Gmail or different information superhighway based digital mail provider seem for training on their internet site.
