What's NASA Goddard Director Dr. James Hansen's political leanings?

And how, in your opinion, do they influence his recommendations on global warming?

I see some weird statements and I'm curious whether people are aware of something that I haven't seen or considered.

Please support your response with examples of what he says or does that lead you to your conclusions.

Material form his Web site or direct quotes and links are of course most credible...

Update:

birdog, Your rant is fascinating, but you offer no shred of evidence of how you came to such paranoid conclusions.

Update 2:

Everything I've seen regarding Dr. Hansen indicates that he's a conservative. NASA Director Dr. James Hansen is also a conservative. He advocates investment in developing 4th generation (clean) nuclear power, he distrusts dogmatic knee-jerk environmentalists, he opposes the Kyoto treaty and its ineffective follow-on proposals, and he strongly opposes the U.N. recommendation that China and India be completely free from emission controls.

"No time remains for a transition via ineffectual half measures. Frank communication with the public is essential. At present, all around the world, many governments are guilty of greenwash, an implausible approach of goals and half-measures that will barely slow the growth of CO2."

    He's a moderate conservative.

I think this is why he supports a carbon tax and dividend, which returns the entire tax to the public, which Hansen says can be accomplished without additional bureaucracy.

It's an interesting concept, but personally I would prefer using some of the money from a carbon tax for funding solutions like renewable energy projects. I think the fact that he doesn't support such projects shows his conservative leanings.

People don't necessarily base there believe in global warming or there denial on political basis. He could lean towards th far right and still believe that global warming is real. Although i admit its unlikely. Although over here in Australia the Leader of the Liberal party (Conservatives) believes that global warming is real. Its an example that both sides of politics can believe in it.

The wikipedia may help you although im not sure it mentions his political believes. On the other hand maybe he hasnt got any.

He is a puppet for the left-wing propaganda machine. His motivations are similar to those as his buddy, Al Gore. I don't however know his percentage of the100 million good ole Al has made off of the hoax. Maybe it's just about money and power. Isn't that what politics is about anyway?
