Do medical schools care about which undergraduate college or university you went to?

I am at a bit of a dilemma here. I just got accepted into UCLA, UC Davis, UC San Diego, and UC Irvine. I got in as a biology major and I want to get into a medical school after I graduate. Do you think I should go to an easier school like UC Davis or UC Irvine, where I can be at the top of the competition and probably manage a higher GPA. Or should I go to UCLA or UC San Diego, where the competition will be harder and more people will be as smart as me, and I may get a lower GPA.

Personally, I would get to a highly ranked school b/c a good undergrad degree would help, whether or not I get my master's.

No. All of the UC's are good to great schools. If you were comparing Harvard to say Jacksonville State, then I would say Harvard would give you a better chance of getting into medical school. That said, I would rather have a 3.9 GPA from a tier 3 school (like Jacksonville State)than a 3.2 from Harvard when it comes to getting into medical school.

No, it really doesn't matter too much. Although I don't think there's much competition difference between the UC's (save for Merced or Riverside). But that's not what you should base your decision on - go to the school you like the most, they all have good pre-med programs.

They will look at it, but not care as much as your GPA and MCAT score. Going to a school like UCLA or UCSD makes you look better and the med school admissions might put more value (think higher about them...) on those graduates if you know what i mean

nicely going someplace very prestigious, like Harvard or Yale, and doing nicely, does not injury your opportunities. it extremely is because of the fact those prestigious universities are probably greater nicely easy to the administration and that faculties extreme academic standards may well be greater nicely easy. in spite of the shown fact that, as long as you get sturdy grades on your college, no rely what college it quite is, the scientific college might settle for you as long as you meet their academic expectancies. .
