My female guppies are grouping together & chasing away the males. Is this behavior normal? What gives?

It's almost like they have formed a small group and change positions with each other or when another female guppy arrives. But this is an all girl group - male guppies are chased away? I've never seen them do this before. Any ideas why they are doing this now?

Update:

There are about 3-4 females per male.

like normal women, there probably just tired of the males trying to mate all the time. or one of them is about ready to have babies.. I've seen that happen with mine.
