If it had zero fluid in it, the torque converter, would just spin freely, and there would be no rotation of anything in the transmission.
In addition, it wouldnt shift out of park because it needs fluid to shift, unless it electronically controlled, but either way, no fluid in troque converter=no movement of transmission input shaft.
If it were a manual gearbox, it would still function, but the bearings would overheat and fail very quickly.

Driveing with no fluid will cause the trans to over heat real fast...if its and auto ...it realies on fluid pressure to shift..and it might not even shift... if it's a manual it will work till thesynchro sleeve melts to the cluthing teth on the drive gear...IT'S A REAL BAD IDEA.

Nothing's going to override your transmission to stop it from working until it breaks. Then it won't work.

dont do you will burn out the cluthes inside the transmission you will neede to change trans filter and drain remainder of fluid it might work but i think the damage is already done

more than a quart or two low and it won't move. running it dry will trash the hydraulic pump in a matter of seconds.

yea, go ahead and drive it with no fluid, it will run fine.
cmon man, what kinda dumb question is that. theres fluid in it for a reason. so metal dosnt grind on metal, thats why oil is in it. if youi drive it with no fluid, ur car will move for a little bit and ur tranny will blow. then ur in it for a couple grand. So yea, put dont drive it with out fluid.
