Should I buy a used iPod Touch?
I've been looking around Craigslist, and I'm considering buying a used iPod touch, there is nothing physically wrong with it and I find that $180 is a reasonable price for it. I have an old iPod video, but I'd like a newer iPod. Buying a brand new one is out of the question, I'm short on money.
Basically, what I'm asking is: Should I spend my money on a first generation iPod touch, or is it too risky? Also, is it really worth the money?

If you buying from craigslist, you should be careful. You should know how the condition of iPod. My answer from your question is : you shouldn't spend your money to get iPod touch. Because I found a site that can give free iPod. They claim have 5 items and we can choose according what we want. Just try it before you make purchasing. Here is the link

Depends on how many GB doe it have. If it is a 8GB iPod Touch for $180, I suggest you buy a new 2nd generation one (only $230). It has a bluetooth chip, external speaker, external volume control, and also longer battery life.

No, you should not buy a used 1st gen touch on Craigslist.
You can get a completely refurb'd 1st gen 8GB iPod touch from Apple for $159. 16Gb 1st gen is $219.
A 2nd gen 8GB is $199.
Comes with a full one year warranty, and meets full factory specs, same as a new one.

i would want to know why the person is selling it and for detailed pics of the screen they have been touching w/o it being on so that the color and light doesnt hide the cosmetic blemishes on the screen.
