If you don't have an internet connection, there is not much point in having any anti-virus software installed as you cannot receive updates for the anti-virus definitions.
Hope This Helps!

The top 3 are
1. Avast
2. Avira Antivir
3. AVG
These have both paid and free versions. Free can be found at CNET at downloads.com.
I have the Avast Home Edition 4 and am really happy with it although it is intricate and takes a while to set up and learn. Avira has the highest virus detection rate and the new program update is hot, hot, hot. AVG is good, but is continually falling behind and I wouldn't doubt that some other program will replace it in the top 3.

McAfee and Norton are the best, these would be licensed software, you will have to pay for it.
AVG and Avast are the free versions available on internet, you may download them from free.
You may download one of them from www.filehippo.com
