I don't like Louie. It works for a child and an old man, but not an adult. It's a nickname for Louis, so I would recommend naming him Louis and calling him Louie. I, personally, think that there are much nicer names out there though.

the name louie makes me think of a a 70 yr old man in golf shorts. I like the name Mason. Some families like the names of their children to start with the same letter. What about Ty or Tristan.

Mason sounds much better than Louie.
