How would you answer Math Equation problems like this one 7x - 4x + 2x + 5 = 2x +14 please explain x=?

1. 3x + 7 = 4x x=

2. x + 2 + 2x = x + 10 x=

3. 2x + 3 + 3x = x + 11 x=

4. x + 2x + 14 = 5x + 2 x=

5. x + 4 + 2x = x + 20 x=

6. 4x - 2x +4 = x + 10 x=

7. x + 2x - x + 7 = 4x - x + 2 x=

8. 4x - 2x + 3 = 2x + 2x - x x=

9. 5x - 3x + x + 8 = 2x + 1 + x + 2 + x x=

10. 7x - 4x + 2x + 5 = 2x + 14 x=

    7x - 4x + 2x + 5 = 2x + 14

    you can add the "x" terms

    7 - 4 + 2 = 5, so

    5x + 5 = 2x + 14

    now, subtract 2x from both sides to get all the "x" terms on the left side of the equation

    5x + 5 - 2x = 2x + 14 - 2x, so

    3x + 5 = 14

    now, subtract 5 from both sides to get all the non "x" terms on the right side of the equation

    3x + 5 - 5 = 14 - 5, so

    3x = 9

    now, divide both sides by 3 to solve for x

    (3x)/3 = 9/3, so

    x = 3

    I'll do number 9 because it's the longest, you can do the rest of them

    5x - 3x + x + 8 = 2x + 1 + x + 2 + x

    Collect all like terms

    (5x - 3x + x) + 8 = (2x + x + x) + (1 + 2)

    5-3+1 = 2 + 1 = 3

    2 + 1 + 1 = 3 + 1 = 4

    3x + 8 = 4x + 3

    subtract 3x from both sides

    3x - 3x + 8 = 4x - 3x + 3

    8 = x + 3

    Subtract 3 from both sides

    8-3 = x + 3 - 3

    5 = x

    x = 5

    All the rest work the same way.

    I'll give you the solution for your example:

    First thing to remember when solving equations is that you must put together like terms.

    For 7x - 4x + 2x + 5 = 2x + 14

    1. Solve -4x + 2x first (following the PEMDAS rule) it will result to: -2x

    therefore: you have --> 7x - 2x + 5 = 2x + 14

    2. Then solve 7x - 2x which will result to: 5x

    therefore: you have --> 5x + 5 = 2x + 14

    3. Then transpose 2x to the other side of the equation making it -2x since it will change sign, then 5 transpose to the other side making it -5

    therefore: 5x - 2x = 14 - 5

    4. Then solve it, find the value of x:

    therefore: it will become --> 3x = 9 and divide both sides with 3 so that you can find the value of x. It will become x = 3

    So 3 is your answer for the example. Hope this helps

    What you are doing is to solve for x so to solve you must get x on one side and the number values on the other so like on #10 start by simplifying by taking the base which is x and combine the coefficient like this: 5x+5=2x+14 then subtract 2x from each side to get: 3x+5=14 then subtract 5: 3x=9 then divide by 3: x=3

    You need to collect all the x's on one sider, and all the numbers on the other:

    3x + 7 = 4x +x

    subtract 3x from both sides:

    7 = 4x + x -3x

    Then add up all the x's

    7 = 2x

    Divide both sides by 2

    x = 7/2 = 3.5

    You do the rest (Toooo boring, but good practice)

    It looks like they want you to put down what x is equal to-for example on the the first problem: 3x+7=4x. You want to get everything with a variable (x) in it on one side. Remember what you do to one side of the equation, you must also do to the other. Subtract 3x from the left side of the = sign and do the same to the right side of the= sign. This will give you 7=x. The first one gives you an idea.

    1.x=7 4x-3x=x so x=7 :)

    2.x=4 x+2+2x=x+10 10-2=8 3x=x+8 3x-x=2x 2x=8 8/2=4

    x=4:)

    x=2

    x=7

    i hope you under stand email me at natakoko@yahoo.com for any questions :)

    x is called a variable it represents and unknown number. x is the same value on both sides of the equal sign and they can be multiplied by anything but only added and subtracted from each other.

    for question one you can subtract 3x from both sides of your equation 3x+7 = 4x... subtract 3x from both sides and a you get 3x-3x+7 = 4x-3x and that equals 7 = 1x

    for two you can combine like terms adding x's together on each side of the equal sign like so

    1x+2x+2=1x+10... so 3x+2=1x+10

    you can subtract 2 from each side and get

    3x=1x+8

    and then subtract 1x from each side and get

    2x=8

    now you divide by two to get x by itself

    x=4

    Im not going to do them all but this should get you started

    Im not sure if you know but x is a pro numeral. This means it could have any value. In these questions you have to work out the value of x.

    Did that help at all?
