C:other as in illegal! already been proven by the EU court of law but somehow the banks have been able to get it put on hold. I've been with the same bank since i was 11 (hungry hippo account) shessh talking about starting them young. I always make sure i'm in the black and never in the red, 25 years with the same bank and they would slice my guts open to get money. My sister got hit with a 38 quid charge on something like 3 pence for being over drawn. It is sickening, but they are able to get away with it. Unless as a national multi national day of protest, we all stop banking for one hour. No cash withdrawals or payments.
I'm not an economist i have no idea what that would do to the world, but it would put the fear of God into them.

Bank charges, especially in the UK are simply highway robbery of the poor and the middle class so that the RICH can enjoy free banking.
Think about it.

c. Excessive
It should be a percentage of the balance that someone goes into the red. That will ensure most people don't ABUSE the system. At the same time...it's not a $40 charge for being -$1.72
