Any advice on doggie/pet insurance out there?
I am getting a Boxer tomorrow. I am considering either Pets Best (www.petsbest.com), or ASPCA, as they seem like the two best on all of the reviews I have looked at.
Any advice on these, or any others? Thanks.

We have Trupanion pet insurance, the good things about it are that there are no penalties for filing a claim, monthly premiums don't go up with the pet's age, and they don't have breed restrictions. They also cover hip displaysia (not many other companies do) which can be common with Boxer breeds.

Most pet insurance is very complicated. There are different levels of coverage and submitting the claims are very exact. They are easily denied if not submitted perfectly. I do recommend getting insurance especially for a pure breed puppy. They can really cover quit a lot of things including emergency care. Call the insurance company directly though and get the low down on the coverage. I have heard of a lot of headaches from loopholes and improper paperwork.

(((LJ))) with a bit of luck, issues should not be as undesirable as they sound top now. The looming threat of maximum cancers can strike as no longer elementary as maximum cancers itself. while i substitute into clinically determined, I have been given the impact that I had approximately 18 months left. That substitute into 19 months in the past, and that i'm in greater advantageous shape than i substitute into then as through drug therapy. of direction, each and every maximum cancers is different. i'm sorry I have no suggestion approximately COBRA different than that it has continuously scared me. fees are maximum once you may least locate the money for them. i do no longer understand how some human beings handle it. i'm fortunate to have the two my employer's insurance and my spouse's, yet i'm uncertain what's going to take place while i won't be able to paintings any further. incapacity and Medicare, i think, yet i understand little approximately the two. (i've got faith like ranting appropriate to the clowns in Congress top now yet I won't.) i will basically deliver constructive techniques your way, wish which you will get some stable information for a metamorphosis, and a promise that i will bypass on any efficient recommendations I come during.

Personally, I've found it more cost effective after the first sets of shots are done, to simply save on a monthly what I would pay in pet insurance in my own savings account.
If you are going to AKC register your dog, AKC offers a free month of pet insurance which might be worth your while.
At the moment, I have about $1700 in "dog insurance" in my savings account.
Don't forget ~ the reason "insurance" works as a business is because they pay out LESS than they take in... and what they take in goes to pay for things like employees, rent, advertising etc. Financially you are betting that you bought a dog so unhealthy as to cost you MORE than what you would normally pay a vet for a healthy dog.

Pet Insurance is complicated and what ever the problem with your pet, the Insurance usually doesn't cover it. I don't want to be discouraging, but finding a Vet that offers a discounted service or learn how to treat and prevent illness yourself is probably better money spent.

I have VPI at $16.95 per month. It only pays for annual, routine exams. Usually every time I take my dog in, I end of spending around $50, even with the insurance. Without the insurance it would be considerly more.

I recommend Pets Best from those two choices.
