Why do people start chain letters ?

They do it out of boredom most likely or else they want to feel important for doing "something". But what drives me nuts is not the idiots that start them, but the idiots that fall for them. Chain letters have no power except the power you give them, same with any weird superstition. This was best explained in a kids show about 15 years ago where this girl thought she broke her mirror, had a bunch of bad luck, but found it unbroken. People that think they'll end up dead from not reposting a chain letter are probably gullible enough to believe anything.

Just ignore it and delete it. It's pure crap. As if anybody can't think of anything else constructive to do. These things have been going on for years now and any email you get that doesn't look right you shouldn't even open it.

Man, that's probably one of the best questions ever. Yes, WHY? I can only guess that they are either stupid and believe it, or they just like to be annoying, or they don't know how to communicate other then those ridiculous emails that annoy 99% of us!

boredom, or insanity, but who can say that those who forward them anyway aren't bored or insane ^_^

something to do, i have had a couple of those, i just ignore them.
