why is wikipedia not how it used to be?
someone just said wikipedia is not what it used to be and they thought it might close down?
could someone on here explain what he possibly means?

Well, I'm not sure what "how wikipedia used to be" means. Last time I was there, the site seemed the same as it's been for the last, 10 years?
I know occasionally they have the banner at the top of the page that says something about making a donation to keep wikipedia going, but my thing is this.... I honestly don't think if 1,000 people donated $10 each, that it would matter.
They say that by making a donation, you're helping to keep wikipedia basically in operation. I've never donated, but I dunno, to see a website close down, all because they "didn't get enough donations" I don't know how I feel about that.
I kind of feel like even if they did get a ton of donations, they'd still close down.
