If I am not mistaking, all laxatives say consult a doctor after one week of use. I know that after continued use (months- years) it can mess your gi system up. I would not take it for more than 2 weeks; in the mean time, make an appointment.
It is also better to swap out laxatives also, most doctors will recommend you to swap 2 different laxatives out

It's possible to take too much fiber, and that can cause big problems. MORE is not always BETTER.
On the other hand, most Americans don't get enough fiber in their diets, so lots of people take fiber every day of their lives. Older people especially. Just make sure you don't overdo it, and drink plenty of water with it.
OR just eat a two or three servings of fruit each day. That's much better for you.
One thing to watch out for with fiber products is the flavorings. Many of them are LOADED with sugar and artificial flavors. That's NOT good for you!
You might want to try Benefiber. It's completely tasteless. If you mix it in water, you can't even tell it's there. You can put it in your food, too. Most grocery stores and drug stores carry it.
